Adventure Tools...

So Alex has finished his first book for 2014 and it has set his imagination on fire! Yesterday after school, he and Ayson went down to the creek and set up a "camp site."

To the left is where they decided to keep their camp supplies (canteen, survival radio, ammo box full of rubber bands and Nerf darts, books) and to the right, you might notice an "X" on the ground...that would be their fire. What you might not be able to see in the pic is Alex is holding a handmade tool. He got the idea from On the Far Side of the Mountain's main character, Sam. It's actually functional too, I am told.

It's sort of a hammer, made from a stick with a "Y" end and a pointy rock. He's saved his tool treasure for further adventures in the coming days. 

I love my two little adventure-loving boys!
