Party Time...

There are times when a child's birthday party becomes an awesome reprieve. After a long week of Extreme Home Makeover volunteering in addition to work for A.J., and hot weather and cranky boys (and Mommy), we were ready for a change of pace. Who knew that would come in the form of our friends, Phillip & Malinda's little guy's 2nd birthday party? It was so nice to hang out with a group of other adults knowing that our kids were having such a great time playing with the other kids at the party. Malinda (& Phillip) is the consummate hostess, so I always know that we're in for a treat and that we'll leave feeling spoiled.

The kids were able to blow off some energy and refresh themselves outside in the water on our 103 degree July afternoon.

Malinda had the mother of all safari animal hunts in the front yard. Ayson picked up on the idea fairly quickly (maybe he learned something from his church Easter egg hunt after all!), and Alex found his fair share as well. What fun they had.

Below, the fruits of their safari animal hunt! It looks like we'll be able to create an entire zoo from their spoils!
Thanks again to our hosts!
