Happily, our drive to Galveston was uneventful. I always try to gear myself up for the worst-case scenario when traveling with the boys, since we often find it difficult to make a trip to even Kroger (only six miles from our home) without some sort of drama. I was anticipating what a five hour trip might have in store for us. Amazingly, the boys were a joy to travel with (maybe it was that dual screen dvd player?) and gave us no trouble. It actually gave me hope for a possible trip in our future that is longer than the allotted five hours we've given ourselves [before we go insane] for travel with little kids.
The real miracle, however, occurred while we were driving smack in the middle of Houston when we realized Ayson had actually fallen asleep!! We took a picture for posterity because it may never happen again! I think the last time Ayson fell asleep in the car was when we were driving to Minnesota when he was three months old! He only slept for 45 minutes, but it seemed like an eternity as we drove along in the quiet car!

Yeah!! I hope the drive home goes just as well. Have fun! It's raining here again today.
