The other night Alex offered to read Ayson a bedtime story with a book from his [Alex's] collection - Ayson was quite excited. I wasn't exactly certain how this would all go down. Usually things that involve the boys and togetherness erupt in to either petty bickering or raucus laughing and a wrestling match. But a surprise awaited me as I peered in to Ayson's bedroom to witness with my own two eyes...

| Yes, that is Ayson with a finger up to his mouth, shushing me! :) |
They then ventured in to reading about one of Alex's favorite topics, dinosaurs. This time they decided to kick back and relax in Ayson's crib.

Fear not, Ayson has not "fallen off the wagon" and gone back to using his pacifier! He found this really old one in his toy basket and gave it a brief go before tossing it over the edge of the crib!
Now about the crib. We had Alex in his crib until he was three and a half. I've thought a lot about that in regards to Ayson. He'll be three and a half in March. Perhaps we'll move him to his big boy bed at that point...On the other hand, he's an unknown quantity. I'm not sure what he would do with the new freedom that comes with a bed. It could work out just fine. Or. He could be one of those little kids who is constantly sneaking out of bed - or waking up at 5:00 a.m. and coming in to the kitchen to make his own breakfast and watch cartoons on full blast volume. It gives me the shivers just thinking about it! He loves his crib right now though - why mess with a good thing, right? |

This picture reminds me of a little girl sitting on the sofa between two little boys reading Green Eggs and Ham. Ah what sweet memories. Hold on to this one!
