Saturday morning we took the tool men to Home Depot for their Saturday project. When we got there a sign was at the entrance saying it had been postponed until this coming Saturday. Drat! The boys were already dressed in their orange aprons and were ready for some manly work with tools. On the way back about a mile and a half from our home however we saw this...
just preparing to take off from the helipad at the new ER that just opened yesterday. It was amazing. We were quite a ways off from it but could still feel the air blowing from the rotors. I don't recall ever being that close to a helicopter that was actually moving. The new ER was having a sort of open house so there were several emergency vehicles in the parking lot for the boys to peruse...
While one might think the highlight of the visit would have been getting to climb up inside a sweet fire truck, it was actually this guy...
It was an animated fire dog driving around in a fire truck, operated by the fire marshall from afar. It talked to Ayson, asked him for some "sugar" (of course Ace obliged!), and chatted with him. It was really cute. Ayson has asked about that fire dog at least once every day since.
See the wet spot on Ayson's shorts? That's where fire dog sprayed water out of the fire truck getting Ayson right where it counts you could say. From then on we had Ayson stand a little farther away! :)
