Sunday evening A.J. began a 24 hour battle with some hardcore nausea. He was pretty miserable. Alex and Nanny had already planned a play time and sleepover for Monday night. He was gone from yesterday late morning until this morning. That left crazy Ace and me. I think I go through a temporary transformation when I know that I am the only parent on call. I sort of step up my game. I hover around my little chick, and for the nausea king I become a cross between Florence Nightingale and the annoying nurse you get when you're in the hospital who keeps waking you up to check your vitals. I become more structured and more patient The characteristics that tend to not be my strengths suddenly rise to the surface. I become Super Mom! Today everyone and everything is back to normal and I'm back to my every day self it seems. :)
Just me and my Ace! As a Super Mom, some things do tend to get neglected - like hair and make up!
On a different subject, yesterday after supper, Ace and I were drawing on the driveway with some sidewalk chalk. I was busy drawing a variety of butterflies while Ace busily scribbled. After a few minutes of this, Ayson said, "Mom, draw an "A." So I wrote a nice big upper case A in bright yellow. Then he said again, "Mom, draw a "Y." Okay - upper case Y. "Mom, draw "S," and so forth until he spelled out his entire name. Maybe every almost-three-year-old is able to do this, but I was pretty impressed with my little guy! :)
