It's always fascinating to watch young children at play. The other day, Ayson wanted to make a fort with a blanket across the couch and the ottoman. He's never asked to do that before - it always seemed to be an Alex thing. So we made a fort. He grabbed a pillow from the couch and told me it was a door to the fort. Then an empty diaper box was used on the other end of the fort to further enclose it. I was impressed to see him using his imagination more.
Later we went to Target and while there, I picked up five little Matchbox cars for Ace. Once home, he immediately began "setting them up" in the living room. He lined the new cars very carefully in a row, and then he went to his bedroom to gather all his other cars to methodically put them in line as well. I thought maybe he was finished but he continued on. This time he headed to the playroom and pulled every wheeled vehicle in there and began lining them up "just so." If things didn't apparently look right, he got up and did a little rearranging. This process took probably a half hour. He reminded me of a little worker ant watching him move back and forth carrying things here and there. A very industrious young man indeed! :)
