Sew What?

For Christmas I got a nice basic sewing machine from A.J.'s parents.  I've barely touched a sewing machine, let alone sewed a button on a shirt.  I didn't even have anything in particular that I wanted to sew.  Maybe it's the sense of wanting to create...sort of like men and woodworking or something along that line.  So yesterday I decided to break in my machine.  I had picked up some fabric to make Ayson a basic toddler-sized blanket (akin to what Aunt Jennifer made for Alex on his first birthday).  This evening I finished it up.  It is far from perfection.  And you don't have to look hard to see that not all seams are perfectly straight.  I vow to keep improving.   But.  It didn't turn out too bad for a novice.  And when Ayson saw it he grabbed it and wrapped it around himself and then thanked me! I felt like a star! :)  You can officially call me "Suzie Homemaker!"
The machine...

The handiwork! :)

GREAT job on the blanket! I need to get my machine out and start making things again. I have a basket full of cloth ready and waiting to become something beautiful...or as beautiful as my sewing skills can make it :) There might be more blankets in your boys future..haha

I think it looks great! And the fact that Ayson loves it is really all that matters. Great job!
