School's Out!!

Thursday was Alex & Ayson's last day of school! It seemed like theirs was the last school in North Texas to finally close doors for the summer.  Alex proved to be a fantastic and hardworking student.  He was on the A/B Honor Roll all year - his one "B" grade was in handwriting, and due to low muscle tone in his upper body I don't fault him for that.  In my book he was a straight A Honor Roll kid!! And Ayson was a great little preschooler.  I always love picking up the boys on the last day of school - there's an excitement in the air and anticipation of relaxation and fun ahead.

Yesterday Alex kicked off his summer by leaving yesterday morning to go to Hurricane Harbor with his buddy, Grant, and then enjoying a sleep over at his house.  It was pretty quiet around the house until A.J. got home.  We went, along with A.J.'s parents, out to eat to celebrate A.J.'s birthday.  Ayson was able to enjoy his temporary "only child" status for the evening and got to spend the night with Nanny and Grampy after the birthday festivities.  You know what that means? For the first time in years...truth! Years! I slept in until 7:00 a.m. It was fantastic!

So the calendar is filling up quickly with swim lessons, golf lessons, camping trips, etc.- all the good things that summer brings.

Summer begins...
