Easter morning was not unlike Christmas for us. It's one out of two days of the year where I can be positively certain the boys will both awake in super moods. This Easter eve Alex awoke in the middle of the night frightened by some thunder and lightning. I bumped him over in his bed and spent the remainder of my precious sleep time with a clingy seven year old. Even though he didn't sleep well, he awoke at the crack of dawn. bright and chipper and ready for an egg hunt. To see the boys in egg-hunting mode, you would have thought it was a timed race - and they were both record breakers! Ayson wasted no time popping some Hershey's Kisses in to his mouth leaving a nice chocolate ring around his lips. Alex, meanwhile, was more interested in a mini Lego toy he got. After a sufficient amount of play we got everyone ready for our church's amazing Easter service. A great way to start the day!

After church we ran home to change clothes and then headed over to our friends, Philip & Malinda's for what was our second annual Easter get together. Lots of good food and company! We had so much fun (in spite of multiple time outs for Ayson); and the kids had the mother of all Easter egg hunts. It took Malinda and I about 20 minutes to hide approximately 250 eggs. After the obligatory picture of the kids holding their buckets we set them off on their hunt. Every child ended up with a bucket brimming over with eggs full of fun little trinkets and yummy goodies.

By late afternoon we were back on the road and headed over to A.J.'s parents for a visit. The boys received some really fun goodies. You would think they were worn out from a deliciously busy day, but no, we headed to the neighborhood park with A.J.'s parents for about an hour. It ended up being a perfect cap to the day. By the time we finally got home we ate a super light dinner and then got the boys in bed. Then A.J. and I collapsed on the couch. Snooze. :)
