Skateboard Boy...

Somewhere in the deep crevices of the garage Alex found this gem...I'm guessing it's circa late 1970's.  He strapped on his bike helmet and then proceeded to personalize it.  He christened it "Big Tred."  Big Tred.  I like it. :) He had to have the metal wheels lubed up a bit with some WD40, and after that was able to make it down the hill of our driveway...sitting on it.  Maybe eventually he'll graduate to the standing up position.  :)

This garage treasure reminds my of my first pair of roller skates - metal wheels, and the base clipped on to your shoes and was tightened using a metal key.  Does anyone remember those?? Ahem.  I was very young!
