When I Grow Up...

After a week long unit studying careers, the kinderkids got to make presentations telling everyone what they want to be/do when they grow up. I honestly thought Alex would want to be a landscaping guy or a spy, but he was resolute in his decision to be a "mythbuster" - yes, like the guys on the Discovery Channel. Why not?

When his turn came, he explained that when he grows up he wants to be a mythbuster, and described that as a scientist who proves whether a myth is true or not. Then he told the kids he had an experiment that he wanted to perform outside. It was the old Mentos in a 2 liter bottle of diet soda experiment (drop the Mentos in and stand back and watch the eruption of soda). He performed his experiment successfully with just the right amount of drama and then finished up with the loud pronouncement, "Confirmed!" Indeed this was not a myth! The kids went wild and thought it was great. Alex was a happy boy.

All of the kids did a super job - lots of future veterinarians, dentists, one cheerleader, one cosmetologist, one pro soccer player, and two superheroes! :) Look out world!
