We Did This, They Did That...

After spending all of Saturday afternoon working on Alex's Pinewood Derby car followed by a late night [for our kids] birthday party, it was nice to have a peaceful, relaxing Sunday afternoon.  Alex and I spent the better part of the afternoon engaged in games of strategy and battle.  Stratego and Battleship (Electronic Battleship circa 1981 from A.J.'s collection of childhood toys).

Remember this game? The electronic version has a slightly annoying sonar/ping sound that plays for the duration of the game, but a cool explosion noise every time a ship is hit.

While that was going on inside, this was going on outside with A.J. and Ayson...

He's got the wheelies down perfectly and no longer needs a "bump" in the road to help him.  He just pulls up on the handlebars and pulls off these cute mini wheelies about 4 inches off the pavement.  Now A.J. is helping him with his ramp work.  Obviously A.J. is hoping Ayson will fulfill his own childhood dream of being a bmx champ like his favorite hero, Cru, from one of his favorite movies, "Rad." :)
