Ayson was not so easy this year. I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween and he declared, "An owl." Do you know how hard it is to locate an owl costume? Well, we didn't get one. When we were out shopping though we'd run through all the costumes but always left empty-handed. The closest we got to actually purchasing something was a garden gnome costume we saw at Target, but it didn't take long before he soured on the idea. A.J. and I just decided we make something for him. So last weekend as A.J. was cleaning out our attic he ran across a childhood dress up police officer shirt that his mom had made for him. We decided it would make a great costume for him. We were also able to borrow A.J.'s dad's old police badge and hat from when he worked in Grafton, MA, many years ago. Ace sure makes a cute little cop.So we had a Halloween preview Friday. After A.J. came home from his four day city business trip to Corpus Christi trip he reminded us that the city offices were open for little ghosts and goblins to stop by and trick-or-treat. For some reason the residents of this town have not picked up that the city is offering this - it's a lot of fun for the boys getting to meet city staff and of course the police officers, not to mention they made out with a lot of candy since very few kids stopped by. Oh well, their loss and my kiddos gain! :)
| The boys with the rookie police officers. He's nicknamed "Boston" because of his hardcore New England accent. As you see, Ayson is a police officer and Alex is a desert storm military guy! |
Snagging some goodies at one of the offices!
