Courtesy...

Thursday's golf lesson for Ayson introduced the core value of courtesy - "considerate behavior toward others; a polite remark or gesture." A good value for little kids to understand and learn to put in to practice! And I'm certain we'll work on this one for a while! :)

Before this week's golf lesson Ayson specifically requested A.J. work with him. I've officially  taken back seat to the big guy. A.J. is the man! So while A.J. worked with Ayson, Alex played video games in the Learning Center game room, and I watched and took a few pics with my phone.

As we sat on the steps of the Ben Hogan Learning Center the various classes were being sent off to specific stations to work on golf skills: putting, the chipping green, etc. Last week Ayson's group focused on chipping, so we assumed he'd likely be putting, but when they said Ayson's group would be going to the range Ayson exclaimed, "Yes!" with a fist pump. Oh how long he'd waited to finally be able to go out to the driving range. Practice went well for his class of 13. He got ample time to practice and hit a number of good shots.
These photos are not the best y'all! Between a smudgy lens on my phone and shooting in to the light...just not very good!
Ayson switched from the correct grip to his favored crossover grip! :)
Love Coach Tony! He's quiet, but you can tell he really gets a kick out of working with the little kids. He knows Ayson well, and knows that as soon as he's done helping Ayson with the correct golfer's grip, Ayson will promptly revert back to his crossover grip. He gets a chuckle out of it because even though he's using a very awkward grip, he really hits fantastic shots pretty consistently.
Getting in a huddle at the close of their lesson...
"We love golf!!"
