Homecoming - The Good Old Days...

Friday was homecoming day.  The kids had a half day of school so they could go to the homecoming parade and pep rally (Hey! It's small town Texas! And football is big here...even if our team has a horrible record!).  A.J. took both boys to the parade, and they came home with a whole lot of cheap candy. You know - smarties, dum dums, tootsie rolls and miscellaneous no name brands.  Yuck.  Ayson would've eaten all of it if we let him.  I have a feeling the candy fairy will be visiting tonight to magically get rid of some of it. Don't tell!

Before the game, we had a quick dinner at the packed local DQ (it gives you the authentic small-town experience!) with A.J.'s best friend from high school, Aden, and his son Skylar.  It was fun seeing them going with their boys to the homecoming game at their alma mater.  It makes you really notice how fast time flies. I love that they still are such great friends after all of these years.

Back in older days...

Fast forward 15-18 years!
