Eight And Four...

Both of our boys celebrate birthdays a month apart.  In the past we'd have a party for Alex, and then a few weeks later we'd have one for Ayson.  This has been such a busy summer, and with the a new school experience for both boys I really wanted to simplify just this once.  So, I did what I said I'd never do, and I had a double birthday party for the boys.  It actually ended up being a lot of fun for them both and I'm relieved to say I have no regrets.

We planned the party at our city park and spray ground for 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Our thinking was that the temperatures would be most comfortable around that time - not totally the case however! A week prior to the party the weather forecast a [now] bearable temperature of 100, by Sunday it had been raised to 102, by Tuesday it went to 104 and then by Friday the predicted high was 106.  Great.  I mentioned to A.J. that the people who were attending our party were true friends for coming to an outdoor birthday party in one of the hottest summers we've had on record.  And true they were.  We set up a hot dog bar, chips, salad, lots of drinks and cupcakes.  And the kids were busy and having fun the entire time.  And it wasn't too miserable for us adults! Hold on to your hats - here come a lot of pics!
