| Our 10th anniversary get away (here, a quick visit to Big Rocks Park) |
The marriage conference was wonderful and provided us with some good conversations and areas where we want to seek improvement. And it was a great time to review the past ten years as well as look with anticipation to the future. We went straight from the conference to Glenrose. We hadn't planned for the events to all end up on the same weekend, it just happened to turn out that way. But it made for a perfect anniversary celebration together.
Our time at Sunset Ridge was too awesome for words. It's a beautiful bed and breakfast that is by far the best we've ever been to. Our hosts operate a top-notch, quiet get-away. It's located on Chalk Mountain and overlooks a lovely valley. We really enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of our surroundings and being able to have full conversations without being interrupted by our two favorite little munchkins. Before dinner, we were entertained by a number of these little guys who walked around the lower terrace...
Rather than going out to eat for dinner, we instead chose to dine al fresco on our private patio. Our lovely hosts served us an incredible dinner that rivals anything we have had in Fort Worth. Parmesan & Thyme Crackers with a creamy herb spread, poached pear over a bed of spinach topped with pecans and pear vinaigrette, perfectly cooked filet with fingerling home fried potatoes, green beans and homemade bread, and then to top it off - the piece de la resistance, an incredible chocolate cake drizzed in a mouthwatering chocolate sauce. Did I mention everything was made from scratch? Add to the fantastic dinner, a good bottle of red wine and a sunset view to die for, and it was a perfect evening.
