Back Up...Recap...

I've simply been busy. Too busy to blog. Sometimes too busy to even straighten up the house. Summer activities have taken over much of our time - sleepovers, swim get togethers, golf lessons, visits to the park or museum, or run errands.  It just seems like when there is time to catch up, I need to seize the day and make a cleaning blitz or just take a breather. But I'm going to back up a little - like a couple of weeks - and recap a little of our fun.

We were finally able to coordinate a play date with our friends Casey, Ryan and Camryn. We met five years ago at Little Gym when Alex & Ryan were in class together. Ayson and Camryn were not yet even one year old (their birthdays are only a week apart)! Ryan and Alex are like two peas in a pod, and Ayson and Camryn play really well together too - and now that all four of our kids know how to swim, our summer get togethers are more fun.

Ayson and Camryn spent a good deal of time taking turns jumping in to the pool and trying to splash the other person. The kiddo getting ready to jump would use traffic directing hand motions to position the other kiddo just right - ensuring the ultimate splash assault. They're so funny.

 Alex and Ryan spent the majority of their time on their spy float. I guess Ayson and Camryn were their arch enemies though the younger two were completely oblivious to that! :)

After eating a yummy lunch and more swimming, the big kids lounged in chairs soaking up the Texas sunshine.

One bizarre thing. While Casey and I were watching the kids swim we were chatting about upcoming getaways. We discovered that we'll both be in Galveston at the same time, and actually in fairly close proximity. How funny is that? So, we may catch up one afternoon for swimming and a beachy cookout. Good times!
